Main Changes in UAE from July 1, 2026

Starting July 1, 2026, several important regulatory and public service updates have come into effect across the UAE, impacting residents, businesses, commuters, and expatriates. These changes are part of the country’s ongoing efforts to modernize services, strengthen compliance, and improve public infrastructure.

The UAE has launched the pilot phase of its e-invoicing system, with selected businesses beginning to issue structured electronic invoices as part of the country’s digital tax transformation. This initiative aims to improve transparency, streamline business transactions, and prepare companies for wider implementation in the coming years.

Another significant milestone is the launch of Etihad Rail passenger services between Abu Dhabi and Fujairah, marking the beginning of a new era in public transportation. The railway is expected to improve connectivity across the Emirates, with additional stations, including Dubai, planned in future phases.

For the Indian community in the UAE, passport and consular services have transitioned to a new service provider, accompanied by revised service charges. Applicants are encouraged to review the updated procedures and fees before scheduling appointments.

Businesses are also required to comply with updated Emiratisation regulations, which introduce stricter workforce requirements and revised salary standards for Emirati employees. Companies that fail to meet these obligations may face administrative consequences affecting work permits and quotas.

Residents with eligible visa cases should note that the special visa grace period concludes on July 9, 2026. Those who need to regularize their immigration status are advised to complete the necessary procedures before the deadline to avoid penalties.

In Sharjah, paid parking hours have been extended until midnight in selected areas, helping local authorities better manage parking demand in busy commercial and residential districts.

Together, these updates reflect the UAE’s continued commitment to digital innovation, efficient public services, improved transportation, and stronger regulatory compliance. Residents and businesses are encouraged to stay informed and take any necessary action to ensure they remain compliant with the latest requirements
